Nashik : One person was killed and over 30 police personnel were injured when and angry mob went on berserk and police tried to control the angry mob which were looting and setting the shops of Muslim community on fire .
The incident took place on Tuesday at Harsul village in Trimbak tehsil, 60 kms from Nashik.
The incident is related to the death of a tribal youth (Bhagirath Choudhary) whose dead body was found in a well belonging to Muslim community on July 7.
The tribals had called for a bandh demanding action against the culprits on Tuesday
The band took a communal turn when they started looting and setting on fire the properties belonging to Muslim community.
When the mob got out of control police and using lathi-charge and tear gas failed , the police opened fire on the mob, injuring 26-year-old Ramdas Buth, who later died .
Three senior were also injured seriously.
However the police officials said that there is no link between the communal and Sinhastha Kumbh Mela which began in Nasik and Trimbakeshwar .
The incident took place at a time when Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and union Home minister Rajnath Singh were in Nashik for the inauguration of Kumbh Mela.
